As someone who has grown up within two cultures and languages, I am very aware that the world and its cultures and societies are moving more closely toward each other day by day. With the rapidly growing technologies, it has become easy for us to connect with people we would not have even thought about a decade or two ago. My students learn to honor and value their home cultures, but they also develop an acute understanding of their place within the world (not just their home countries) and how local actions affect global actions.
